Our Story

About Paddle Supernova

Paddle Supernova is a free-to-play prediction market for fine-art auctions, built by people who work the major sale rooms. Co-founder Guy Vesey has tracked hundreds of major sales seasons across London and New York and advised private collectors on acquisition strategy; the rest of the team brings two decades of operating, legal, and capital-markets experience that lives next to the catalog rather than away from it.

We built the platform we wished existed a place where the kind of judgment a guarantor, consignor, or specialist exercises before each season can be tested publicly, on the record, without putting real money at stake.

Every lot in our catalog comes from an upcoming auction at a major house: Christie's, Sotheby's, Phillips, Bonhams, and others. When you place a YES, you're predicting the hammer will exceed the low estimate. When you place a NO, you're betting it won't. The market odds shift in real time as predictions are placed, reflecting the collective wisdom of every participant.

Points are awarded to correct predictors after each sale result is recorded. The leaderboard tracks the best-performing collectors over time. Points have no cash value and cannot be transferred, redeemed, or withdrawn. This is skill-building, not gambling the argument for why outcomes here depend on judgment rather than chance is set out in full on the methodology page.

Our mission

The art market has long rewarded insiders those with access to specialist knowledge, house relationships, and years of sale-room experience. Paddle Supernova democratises the competition. Anyone with genuine expertise and good judgment can prove it here, publicly, on the record. We believe that surfacing collective intelligence at scale will, over time, make price discovery in the art market more transparent for everyone.

Data and accuracy

Lot data is compiled from publicly available auction catalogs. Estimate ranges are as published by the respective auction house and may not include buyer's premium. Hammer prices are manually verified by our editorial team after each sale and may take up to 72 hours to appear. We make every effort to ensure accuracy but accept no liability for errors in source data.
