Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Paddle Supernova ("the Service", "we", "us") you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time; continued use following notice of any change constitutes acceptance.

2. Nature of the Service

Paddle Supernova is a free-to-play, skill-based prediction market for fine-art auctions. Participants predict whether an auction lot will sell above or below its published low estimate. All activity on the platform uses virtual points only.

Virtual points have no monetary value. They cannot be redeemed for cash, goods, or services. They cannot be transferred between accounts. The Service is not a gambling product, a financial product, or a securities exchange. No money changes hands. No prizes are awarded. Participation confers no financial entitlement of any kind.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement. The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use only.

4. Account registration

You may register using an email address and password, or via Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in manipulation, create multiple accounts to gain unfair advantage, or otherwise act contrary to the spirit of the platform.

5. Predictions and points

When you place a prediction, the stated number of virtual points is deducted from your balance and placed into the relevant market pool. If your prediction is correct, you receive a proportional share of the total pool. If your prediction is incorrect, the points are forfeited to winning participants.

Markets lock at the stated time before each auction. No predictions may be placed or withdrawn after a market locks. Settled outcomes are final. We may void a market in the event of lot withdrawal by the auction house, administrative error, or other exceptional circumstances; in such cases all staked points are returned.

Starting balances of 1,000 virtual points are credited at account creation. We reserve the right to adjust starting balances, point mechanics, or leaderboard rules at any time.

6. Intellectual property

All content on the Service — including text, design, software, and data compilations — is the property of Paddle Supernova or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property law. Lot data is compiled from publicly available auction catalogs; artwork images remain the property of their respective rights holders. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. Lot data — including estimates, artist attributions, and hammer prices — is compiled from third-party sources and may contain errors. We accept no liability for reliance on any information displayed on the Service.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Paddle Supernova and its directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed £100.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
